How to choose your Aadab fragrance

Start with the occasion

Choose the situation that sounds most like you.

• Office and Karachi daytime: Jaun for a fresh aromatic scent with light projection, or Faraz if you prefer brighter, fruitier citrus.
• One bottle for everyday wear: Ghalib if you enjoy fresh woods, or Parveen if you prefer florals. Both have strong projection, so start lightly in shared spaces.
• Weddings and Eid: Oudh e Meer for a citrus-and-floral opening over oud, or Iqbal for a darker rose-and-oud character. Both are noticeable scents for occasions.
• Winter evenings: Faiz for warm spiced tobacco, or Khusro if leather and suede appeal to you.
• Choosing a gift: Consider Ghalib for someone who enjoys fresh woody scents, or Parveen for a floral wearer. Their usual perfume is a better clue than guessing from the bottle.

Find the character you enjoy

Fresh, floral or warm describes the scent itself. It does not tell you how strongly it projects.

Fresh and citrus

Choose this direction if you like a crisp, bright opening. Faraz leans fruity-citrus; Jaun is more aromatic. Fresh does not always mean subtle: Manto has a citrus character with very strong projection.

Floral and sweet

Choose florals if you enjoy a flower-led scent: Parveen is a starting point. If you prefer sweetness with woods, try Jalib. A soft-smelling floral can still project strongly.

Warm, amber and oud

Choose this direction if you enjoy depth and warmth. Faiz suits a preference for spice and tobacco; Oudh e Meer is an option for oud. Start with a light application, especially indoors.

Signature or Reserve?

Signature is our nine-bottle core line, in clear glass with a flat gold cap. Reserve is four fragrances in heavier amber glass with a domed cap.

Both are 50 ml extrait de parfum, and the two lines overlap in price. Reserve is not simply the expensive tier, so choose by character rather than by line.

How to wear it

Every perfume unfolds in three stages. Top notes are what you smell in the first fifteen minutes; the heart arrives after about twenty minutes and is the real character of the fragrance; the base is what stays with you for the rest of the day. Never judge a perfume in the first five minutes. Judge it at the thirty-minute mark.

• Spray on pulse points: wrists, the base of the throat, behind the ears.
• Do not rub your wrists together. It crushes the top notes and shortens the life of the fragrance.
• Apply to moisturised skin. Dry skin loses fragrance fast.
• Two or three sprays is plenty, and two is enough for Manto.
• Store it away from sunlight and heat, with the cap on. A bathroom shelf is the worst place for perfume; a bedroom drawer is ideal.
