Oud perfumes in Pakistan
Oud — agarwood — is the note this part of the world has worn for centuries, long before it appeared in European perfumery. It comes from the resin a wild agarwood tree produces when it is infected by a particular mould, which is why real oud is among the most expensive raw materials in fragrance.
Our two oud fragrances
Oudh e Meer is the only fragrance in the entire Aadab range composed in-house, from scratch. Bergamot, lemon and orange open it bright, white florals follow, and then light agarwood settles in with white musk, amber and sandalwood. It is a soft, wearable oud rather than a heavy one — considerably harder to compose, and far easier to wear all day. Twelve to fourteen hours, very strong projection, Rs 1,900.
Iqbal goes the other direction. Black pepper and bergamot open sharply, then saffron and black rose arrive with jasmine — rich and slightly medicinal, the way the best rose-oud compositions always are. The base is agarwood, leather and tobacco leaf. A winter fragrance and an evening one; it will not do quiet.
Oud, attar and perfume — the difference
An attar is traditionally an oil-based fragrance with no alcohol, applied in small amounts and worn close to the skin. Our oud fragrances are alcohol-based extrait de parfum in a spray bottle, which projects further and covers more skin quickly. Both carry agarwood; they simply behave differently on the body.
When to wear it
Oud rewards cold weather and occasions — weddings, Eid, festive evenings. Heat amplifies it, so go lighter in summer than you would in December.
